Last updated 2026-08-12. This describes exactly what JD Fit Checker collects and why — no legal boilerplate, just what actually happens to your data.
We never scrape or fetch job postings on your behalf — you paste the text directly. We don't collect anything beyond what's listed above (no tracking pixels, no ad networks, no analytics that identify you personally).
Your resume/skills text and each pasted job description are sent to OpenAI to generate the fit analysis and, on paid plans, the cover letter. Nothing else is shared with them. Your account data and check history are stored in Supabase (our database and authentication provider). We use Upstash to rate-limit requests — it only ever sees your user ID and a request count, never your resume or job description content.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for anything beyond running the checks and letters you explicitly ask for.
Every table in our database enforces row-level security — your data is only ever readable by your own account, checked at the database layer, not just in application code. All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS).
There's no self-serve delete button yet — email support@jdfitchecker.com to request your account and all associated data (profile, checks, letters) be deleted, and we'll do it manually. Deleting your account permanently removes everything tied to it.
